Light: Prefers full son in our well-suited for placing near a sunny window.

Fertilizer: The well trained soil should have an ideal pH around 6.0 (slightly acidic). At the start of spring, feed the donkeys tail succulent a controlled release, balanced 20-20-20 fertilizer, which contains equal parts nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. But your plants may prefer fertilizer at 1/4th strength, while young plants may prefer fertilizer with less nitrogen.
